Sapura Energy Berhad and foundation supplier - Offshore Design Engineering Ltd will supply the articulated wind columns for the project. The project will provide electricity for a 4-gigawatt hydrogen facility in Ireland being developed by E1-H2 and Zenith Energy Ltd.

Renewable Funding - Mainstream Renewable Power has secured €90 million (US$101.6 million) in equity funding to support the build-out of a multi-gigawatt pipeline across Latin America, Africa and the Asia Pacific region.

Corrib Gas Sell off - Norwegian oil and gas company Equinor has agreed to sell its stake in the Corrib offshore gas project in Ireland to Vermilion Energy. Through its subsidiary Equinor Energy Ireland, Equinor has signed a deal to sell its stake in the Corrib gas project in Ireland to its partner Vermilion Energy for $434m. The transaction is organized through a share sale of Equinor Energy Ireland Limited, a company 100% owned by Equinor ASA. Equinor owns 36.5% of the Corrib project, alongside Vermilion (the operator with 20%) and Nephin Energy (43.5%).

Power Purchase Agreements - Orsted has entered into power purchase agreements (PPAs) with Johnson & Johnson to supply electricity from its US solar and Irish wind assets. Johnson & Johnson will purchase energy from Sparta Solar in Texas and from the two onshore wind farms Kilgarvan and Booltiagh 1 in Ireland, under the two PPAs. The PPA with Kilgarvan and Booltiagh Wind Farm 1 is an eight-year commercial agreement which will meet 100 % of Johnson & Johnson’s electricity requirements across its four manufacturing sites in Ireland. Over the lifetime of the PPA, Orsted will generate more than 1000GWh of renewable energy under the agreement with Johnson & Johnson.

€20 Million “Prism” Project Cork - Work has begun in real-time on the Prism project, a glitzy €20m commercial development, touted as a “gateway” between the city centre and a new docklands district. More than 18 months since the planning application was lodged with Cork City Council by Clontarf Street Developments Ltd, contractors CField Construction finally moved on site this week for preparatory works ahead of starting construction of the 15-storey tower.

Residential Developments - O’Flynn Construction wants to build 275 residential units in Cork City. It includes the building of 205 houses, comprising of two, three and four-bed homes, including detached, semi-detached and terraced/townhouses. It also includes proposals for 70 apartments, made up of one and two-bedroom duplexes/apartments.  The apartments will be in three blocks ranging in height from three to five storeys. In March of this year, it was envisaged that 386 residential units would be constructed at a site but a scaled-down version of the development has now been submitted.

Distillery Redevelopment - The Midleton Distillery is set for a major investment that will see the redevelopment of the tourist experience.  The €13m plan was announced by Irish Distillers and will bring new whiskey tours and experiences as well as new shopping, bar, café and restaurant facilities. The existing facility will be transformed to accommodate new and interactive whiskey tours and various tasting experiences. Construction will commence immediately and is expected to be completed by 2025, in time to mark the 200-year anniversary of Midleton Distillery.
