New Powerstation for Huntstown - Kilshane Energy Ltd (KEL) has lodged a planning application to Fingal County Council for a 293MW gas fired Power Station at Hunstown. The proposed project will consist of an open cycle gas turbine, designed to provide the support required by the intermittent nature of renewable generation. The power station will involve an investment in excess of €150 million and will generate enough electricity to power over 500,000 homes and businesses. On completion of the planning process, the new facility will take up to 18 months to construct on lands owned by the company.

New Town Planning Dublin-  Cairn Homes lodges planning for 569 homes to kick off a new Dublin town project.  About 280 hectares of former farmland, 10km from the city centre, has been designated by the Government as a strategic development zone (SDZ), and South Dublin County Council has plans for a new town with up to 9,000 homes. The 569 homes will be the initial phase of the 9000 homes due to be built in the area. The application incorporates 173 houses, 148 duplex homes and 248 apartments, a creche, two local parks and children’s play areas, together with a green link alongside Fonthill Road.

Solar Farm Proposals - Irish firm Elgin Energy reveals plans for major solar farm near Coleraine. Elgin is proposing a 29.9MW project on a 104-acre site at the Letterloan Road in Macosquin, close to Northstone Materials' head office. It's located less than four miles from the 110-acre site where Elgin Energy secured planning approval for a 25MW solar development five years ago.

800km Maintenance -  Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) has appointed SNC-Lavalin to oversee the maintenance of more than 800km of the country’s motorway and dual carriageway network. Under an initial five-year agreement, SNC-Lavalin and subsidiary Atkins will procure supervision, monitoring, audit, design, technical, advisory and asset management services to maintain 844km of roads in Dublin and the eastern seaboard area, and Cork and the south/south-east of Ireland.

Veterinary Pharma Expansion - The Loughrea based pharmaceutical company Chanelle is seeking planning permission for a new factory on the edge of town.Plans have been submitted to the county council for a factory with associated offices and warehouse on Greeneenagh, Loughrea.The development will have a gross floor space of 1,599.5sqm, on a site of approximately 3.69ha.

No Whitewater Rafting for Dublin - Due to a lack of financial and public support Dublin City Council anticipates putting an end to the project, which would have cost more than €20m.

New Schools - The go ahead has been given by the government to construct 20  new school building projects are being delivered in three distinct project bundles: Project Nore, Project Boyne and Project Dargle. Subject to the timelines for obtaining planning permissions, it is envisaged that these projects will proceed to tender and ultimately construction over the course of 2022 and 2023.These projects when completed will deliver in excess of 14,000 permanent school places (additional and replacement places) which includes over 50 special classes.
